Finding something creative that suits me so well is astonishing at this latter stage of my life…but diamond art painting is a perfect creative outlet for me! Lots of color, organizing, and the soothing movement of adding drills to the canvas. Right down my alley!

At this time, I’ve completed three canvases and am currently working on my fourth. I’ve also purchased several kits that I’ll be working on over the coming year. Also, I’ve decided that a Josephine Wall painting of Aquarius will be my magnum opus. 🙂 More to come on that project.

I’ve joined the Diamond Art Club and currently sit at Ruby level. I’m sure I’ll go further as I purchase more kits. (shhh, don’t tell my hubby! lol)

Now, you may be asking what exactly IS diamond art painting? According to Coronet Diamonds: “Diamond art painting is a type of painting where the artist uses small, colorful diamonds to create a design. The diamonds are placed on a sticky canvas, and the artist uses a special tool to pick up and place the diamonds.”

The diamonds are referred to as “drills”. They come in many colors and usually follow the DMC embroidery thread color coding system. I purchased two sets of 445 colors – square drills and round drills. I also purchased a small set of drills that are “shinier” called AB drills. Of course, all these drills need some sort of storage system and I purchased those, as well.
